What we do
Clients of Literary Intelligence will receive a rigorous, expert, written critique of their novel or short stories. We appraise only fiction, our area of special expertise. Every aspect will be considered, including characterisation, plot, pace, dialogue, settings, style, structure and themes; as well as an assessment of the work's likely place in the market, and advice on the efficacy of the synopsis (if submitted).
The emphasis is two-fold: to give the client a sense of how their work stands currently, and more importantly how they might take it forward towards publication.
The fee for this service is highly competitive. Typically, the tutors read each submission twice, the first time to gain an overview, the second to make detailed notes on the script. They then draft a comprehensive report. For an average novel (60,000 - 100,000 words) the whole process takes three to four working days.
You may find cheaper literary consultancies (in fact, you almost certainly will) but we firmly believe you won't find a higher quality appraisal service anywhere.
